Choose what you will, then let your imagination bring it to you
Emile Coue (1857-1926)

I Will. I Can. I’m able to attain what I want. I release days gone by. I forget about years to come. I am an individual right now. I’m equivalent to whatever ordeal I endure. I’m now available to a stream of spiritual electricity by which I discover the foremost worthy plan of action for the day. My work, being unselfish, opens up completely new opportunities of supply, producing all of the knowledge needed in order for my effort to be wonderful, dynamic and powerful to the supreme degree. Thankfulness is a gorgeous, emotional attribute offered to me in all circumstances…being grateful for life’s little wonders, thankful for the chance to start out the day whereby I am, experiencing the very best position my karma and grace deliver me to. All my requests will continue to be met. I’m okay, today.

INNER-LIGHT MEDITATION

Sunday, March 27th, 2011

Here is a mind-calming exercise for connecting you to your Inner Spirit…. your nature or essence Self. It uses the sunshine that is always coming from you as a point of awareness. It’s a pretty uncomplicated meditation, but is extremely moving, and actually very profound.

Inner Light Meditation

*Sit calmly as you close your eyes.
*Look at the “shield” that fills the environment behind your closed eyelids.
*There will be things on this shield. Imagine whatever is not true dimness becoming a form of light. Kindly pay attention the light.
*Don’t try to create or clarify forms. Don’t seek to focus clearly. Strictly focus on the light with peaceful awareness.
*If you sense as if your consciousness is drifting, or you are moving into an illusory state, allow it to happen. Anything you meet up with is useful.
*If you discover you have wandered off into your thoughts, just bring your mind in to the light.

Advantages of this meditation:

*Direct connection with your calm, boundless Guiding force.
*Connecting with your Guiding force tunes a source of spiritual strength. This energy nourishes & complements all degrees of life… tangible, soulful, psychological and spiritual.
Once connected within your Inner Spirit, life emerges more easily, and you start to understand the world as a more understanding and pleasurable place.
*Regular communication with your Inner Spirit catalyzes a steady change to a higher level of consciousness… located within the peace, joy, and liberation of your Spirit.
*Relaxation and stress decline.
*Increased flow of food into the brain.
*Gradual opening of the 6th chakra – the Inner Eye – giving clear insight & inner vision.

Thoughts are complex. We might have contrasting thoughts and ideology, our ambitions may not be ideal for our values, and emotions may appear that we don’t well have an understanding of. If we flow through life permitting our immersed mindsets take us wherever they lead us, we may be like those rowing a life boat for the first time. A lot of vital energy may be exhausted without much clear guidance or improvement. Affirmations are a method for setting up spiritual direction and creating strength in the mind.

Affirmations are optimistic commands that support a reality or belief. They encourage, “This is so.” They change our consciousness and attitude. They may express a state that we might like to exist,or even a condition that is expressed in our spirit, yet that we have yet to acquire with our full being. They assist our minds to creating that condition…to comprehending the pleasure of our heart’s intense desire. They help us to position our forces to those ends. Affirmation effort assists our conscious mind to teach our unconscious mind and motivate it working for our best happiness. Affirmations let us willfully set the course for our lives.

Affirmations can be utilized like mantras. A habitually repeated expression leads our mind on a process of our choice, and it takes up psychological bandwidth. We can only hold a short degree of substance in our conscious mind at a time. An affirmation occupies area and hordes out less worthwhile feelings, such as tension and unfavorable self-talk. Considering the fact that those unfavorable thoughts are negative, we serve ourselves far better by selecting mindsets that calm us and move us toward our goals. While affirmations may rouse hesitation at first, they are confirmed to succeed. Don’t let your uncertainties of feeling foolish prevent you from utilizing a means that can be invaluable.

The Power of Affirmation-The Power of the Mind

Sunday, March 27th, 2011

To cultivate spirituality, a good self-concept is crucial. A favorable self-concept is considering yourself as an honorable person, worthy of an enjoyable life…and in a position of attaining it. Creating a valuable belief concerning our external or even internal self lets us discover… with our inner spiritual nature…so that, in the long run, we believe that we are a all-powerful being.

Affirmations can be doneinwardly, voiced aloud, put into writing, chanted, said in the form of spells and or prayers. Sometimes, I sing my affirmations with music. Incidentally, that is why I feel music reaches one in a spiritual level…when it moves you in the right way. Furthermore, the proper environment with the right’ energy that is in-tune with the goals of the working(s) is important.

Success with affirmations depends upon utilizing the three-fold key-think about the meaning, create a visualization for this meaning and feel how you will feel when the hoped for goal is consistently happening in your life. In WitchCraft this three-fold key/law does the following; you raise the energy (meditation), program the energy(tell the energy what you want it to do-using affirmations), and direct the energy(visualizations). When you begin directing the energy…continue to program it, while you visualize it doing what you want to do. Affirmations must’ be repeated five to ten times a day, in your mind. Ultimately, let it go…and know that it’ is working.

Magikal Blessings…

Meditation

How Meditation Works

Studies have shown that meditation (in particular, research on Transcendental Meditation, a popular form of meditation practiced in the West for the past thirty years), can bring about a healthy state of relaxation by causing a generalized reduction in multiple physiological and biochemical markers, such as decreased heart rate, decreased respiration rate, decreased plasma cortisol (a major stress hormone), decreased pulse rate, and increased EEG (electroencephalogram) alpha, a brain wave associated with relaxation.

Research conducted by R. Keith Wallace at U.C.L.A. on Transcendental Meditation, revealed that during meditation, the body gains a state of profound rest. At the same time, the brain and mind become more alert, indicating a state of restful alertness. Studies show that after TM, reactions are faster, creativity greater, and comprehension broader.

A laboratory study of practitioners of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi’s transcendental meditation (TM), carried out by Benson and Wallace at Harvard Medical School towards the end of the 1960s, provided the first detailed knowledge of the many physiological changes that go with meditation.

Some of the meditators, whose ages ranged from seventeen to forty-one, had been meditating only a few weeks, others for several years. All recorded changes associated with deep relaxation.

The fall in metabolic rate was the most striking discovery. This was indicated by a dramatic drop in oxygen consumption within a few minutes of starting meditation. Consumption fell by up to twenty per cent below the normal level; below that experienced even in deep sleep. Meditators took on average two breaths less and one litre less air per minute. The meditators’ heart rate was several beats less per minute.During meditation, blood pressure stayed at ‘low levels’, but fell markedly in persons starting meditation with abnormally high levels. The meditators’ skin resistance to an electrical current was measured. A fall in skin resistance is characteristic of anxiety and tension states; a rise indicates increased muscle relaxation. The finding was that though meditation is primarily a mental technique, it soon brings significantly improved muscle relaxation.

Meditation reduces activity in the nervous system. The parasympathetic branch of the autonomic or involuntary nervous system predominates. This is the branch responsible for calming us.During anxiety and tension states there is a rise in the level of lactate in the blood. Lactate is a substance produced by metabolism in the skeletal muscles. During meditation blood lactate levels decreased at a rate four times faster than the rate of decrease in non-meditators resting lying on their backs or in the meditators themselves in pre-meditation resting. The likely reason for the dramatic reduction in lactate production by meditators was indicated when further studies of meditators showed an increased blood flow during. Benson and Wallace found that there was a thirty-two per cent increase in forearm blood flow. Lactate production in the body is mainly in skeletal muscle tissue; during meditation the faster circulation brings a faster delivery of oxygen to the muscles and less lactate is produced.

The two investigators summed up the state produced by their meditating subjects as wakeful and hypometabolic. The physiological changes were different in many ways from those found in sleeping people or those in hypnotic trance states. Meditation, they said, produces ‘a complex of responses that marks a highly relaxed state’. Moreover, the pattern of changes they observed in meditators suggested an integrated response, mediated by the central nervous system.

“Through meditation we can learn to access the relaxation response (the physiological response elicited by meditation) and to be aware of the mind and the way our attitudes produce stress,” says Dr. Borysenko, author of ‘Minding the Body, Mending the Mind”. “In addition, by quieting the mind, meditation can also put one in touch with the inner physician, allowing the body’s own inner wisdom to be heard.”

Taoists believe that the mind of emotions is governed by the Fire energy of the heart. When your emotions are not controlled, the fire energy of the heart flares upwards, wastefully burning up energy and clouding the mind. The mind of intent, or willpower, is controlled by the Water energy of the kidneys. When unattended, the water energy flows down and out through the sexual organs, depleting essence and energy and weakening the spirit. Taoists believe that when you are ‘sitting still, doing nothing’, as in meditation, the flow of Fire and Water are reversed: Water energy from the kidneys and sacrum is drawn up to the head via the Central and Governing channels, while emotional Fire energy from the heart is drawn down into the Lower Elixir Field in the abdomen, where it is refined and transformed and enters general circulation through the energy channels. On the spiritual/mental level, this internal energy alchemy enables the mind of intent (Water) to exert a calming, cooling, controlling influence over the mind of emotion (Fire).

Steps to Contacting Your Higher Self

Sunday, March 27th, 2011

The Higher Self is that part of you that connects you directly to the spiritual realms. It is eternal, infinitely wise and transcends our everyday consciousness. It is in touch with the Divine because it is part of it. Attaining knowledge of the Higher Self and its depths of inner wisdom, is the goal of the spiritual question in all its many forms.

Each of us is connected with the ‘Divine’ however we believe that power to be. The Higher Self within us far transcends the understanding of our conscious minds. This is the power that all the great geniuses and teachers throughout history have accessed. It is also the place of magick and miracle in our lives. Here are the steps to contact it:

1. Belief & Expectation… The first step is to BELIEVE that you have a Higher Self to establish communication with! Then EXPECT every day that this communication will improve as you focus diligently on inner growth and understanding. Without these two essential prerequisites, it is hard to achieve anything at all in life, even on the physical level. For inner growth, these two qualities are necessary. So set a GOAL to achieve contact with the Higher Self, review that goal daily, and maintain your purpose with determination until success is yours.

2. Transform Your View of the World… We are brought up with a primarily materialistic world view that neglects the role of Spirit. To establish close contact with spiritual realms, we need to have our entire being – conscious and subconscious – congruent with our goal. In any major activity/goal you have to establish the rules of the game and the way it is played. Contacting your Higher Self is the same. So you need to start seeking out writings and teachers that expand your understanding of the universe and how it works in relation to your actions and thoughts.

3. Solitude… Make regular time for yourself where you can be totally alone. A quiet place is preferable. Just sit quietly with no expectations. Do NOTHING. This may feel very uncomfortable and strange in the beginning. Persist and practice! You need to give time and space for the inner voice to make itself heard. It will likely do so during that quiet time or else during the events of the day for instance: A synchronistic event will occur or someone will tell you exactly what you need to hear or you will get a sudden flash of intense insight. All great geniuses of history have found times of regular solitude and silence for themselves and most self-help/motivational speakers/books will tell you this is so very important.

4. Meditation… In meditation, you work to discipline your mind and silence the internal chatter that constantly fill it. You create a pure vessel for the Higher Self to fill. Following your breath is an excellent meditation discipline, as is concentrating upon a candle flame. Or visualize a golden ball of light in your Solar Plexus that fills your whole body with energy and healing. There are many practices that you can study and use.

5. Journal… Record your feelings, emotions, dreams and insights every day in a journal. This will help you to come into closer contact with your inner intuitive depths. You can ask the Higher Self questions here, and then later on record whatever insights/answers you receive. If you do this regularly with belief and expectation, you WILL receive the answers you need.

6. Inner Dialogue… Conduct a regular inner dialogue with your Higher Self. For the next month try this: decide to keep in contact throughout the day with your Higher self. Say to your Higher Self, “I know you are there and I want to get to know you and pay attention to you. Please begin to speak to me and guide my life” Don’t worry if this dialogue is entirely one-way to begin with. Remember that you have been out of touch for most of your life. It takes a while to clear the cob webs! Persist with this inner dialogue as if talking to a friend – chatting, asking questions, sharing your hopes – and begin to listen for answers. They will come.

7. Life Lessons… Look upon life as a Mystery School. Believe that the whole of your life – events, situations and people – has been structured PRECISELY in order to teach you exactly what you need to know right now. Approach life as if the whole of creation is conspiring to do you good! Whenever something happens in your life, for better or worse, ask yourself what the lesson is for you. Even unpleasant people/situations have been deliberately placed there as a challenge to help you grow. As you begin to view life as a drama in which you play the starring role, the role of the Higher Self will become increasingly evident in your life. Record your findings in your journal.

8. Dreams… Expect your Higher Self to speak to you in dreams. Before going to sleep, do some stretching and bending to relax your body completely. Take some crystals that enhance dreaming to bed with you. Ask your Higher Self a question and expect an answer. When you wake up, recall whatever you can of your dream and write it down in your journal. If you are not used to remembering dreams, this will take time and persistence. However with patience, you will begin to recall your dreams AND receive answers from your Higher Self.

9. Mindfulness… Focus upon living more and more in the present, on the NOW. When you are eating, be aware that you are eating. When you walk, know that you are walking. The only real moment is now – the past is gone forever and the future has yet to be. Therefore, work to clear your mind of concerns, illusions and extrapolations. Clear the mental clutter from the mind and create space for the Higher Self to fill.

10. Patience! Yep, that lovely, wonderful, special word! Remember, you may have been spending your entire life out of touch with Source. So doesn’t it make logical sense that it may take time to learn how to re-establish contact. Anything worth doing takes time and practice and work! Be vigilant and practice these steps every day and you will receive the answers you need. Remember: Your Higher Self WANTS to be in contact. In fact, to even speak of it as someone apart from you is contradictory. The Higher Self IS you! The real you. So get in touch with YOU!

Blessed Be…

A Sacred Journey

Wednesday, March 23rd, 2011

As I anxiously await the birth of my 3rd child…I find myself preparing spiritually for this life passage we call childbirth. It is a sacred journey.

I believe there is “more” to life than what our senses perceive. There is a level of wonder which transcends ordinary consciousness. Moreover, bringing forth a new life into this human sphere is the most powerful calling that anyone can do. I feel honored. Without this passage…we simply would not exist.

There has always been a “Magickal” power of women to create new life from within ourselves. Just like “Mother-Earth”…as she produces life from a deep dark cave…

The light and Magick of new life is a healthy human experience. Within the birthing experience, we meet with an opportunity for personal transformation. Be aware of this miracle growing inside. Hence, there are many paths on how to still our mind toward this consciousness…toward this divine within. This is the state in which deep transformation can begin…just by being. If we focus while giving birth…it can and will truly be a transformation for our mind, body, and spirit.

We need be conscious of our nutrition, of our physical health, and with those who make up our support system. If we can find a way to concentrate on the relationship of our experience to the archetypal “Mother-Earth”, we can deepen our own journey, thus sharing that strength with those we come in contact with.

In the breath of Iemanja…we have an ocean in our womb. And, within that ocean life begins again and again-developing from this one tiny cell to an independent conscious being. All of creation is happening from within our body. We are all of creation.

Blessed Be,

What is a Witch?

Wednesday, March 23rd, 2011

I am often asked, “Why do I call myself a Witch or practice witchcraft?” I simply say, “I have always known that I was a witch…a practitioner of Earth and or Natural Magick”. I have always known witchcraft as a path that draws primarily on the Element of Earth and the honor of Nature. A path composed of the elements Earth, Air, Fire, and Water.

Incidentally, it was not until I was much older, than that young child, that I realized what the “magick” aspect of witchcraft was molding my psyche into. You see, the magick that I hold so dear projects my natural energies (such as personal power); all to bring about that needed change. In psychoanalytic terms,  ”Transpersonal Psychology” in this instance, that magick is the balance created between mind, body, and spirit. Consequently, magick is a natural, not supernatural, practice.

In regard to the Elements, I speak of more than just the physical elements. For example, each element symbolizes our physical, spiritual, and emotional attributes.

Consider each element is their natural state; thus, examining within yourself what spiritual and or emotional aspect you connect with them. For example,

  • AIR is the element of the mind. It stimulates intellect, inspiration, and imagination. It contains the ideas, knowledge, dreams and wishes. Air aids us in visualization, a technique that is very important in magick.
  • FIRE is the element that promotes change and passion. It cultivates creativity, motivation, will power, drive, and sensuality. Fire encourages sexuality, both physical and spiritual. Fire governs all candle magick.
  • WATER is the element of emotion and subconscious. It is love, purification, intuition, compassion, family, and mysteries of self. Water accentuates psychic ability.
  • EARTH is the element of stability and of the body. It contains the wisdom, strength, growth, and prosperity in each of us. Earth Fosters the physical earth and the very heart of life.
  • Spirit is that which permeates all things…It connects us to each-other…to the divine-energy.

So you see, being a Witch and practicing Magick is a Positive! It is a path of self-knowledge, a path of peace and light.

Blessed Be,
